When Indy Economic Development was established as a new independent entity, it required rapid operational setup, strategic leadership, and seamless execution to ensure a smooth transition from its former structure within the Indy Chamber. With a new CEO, three retained staff, and no existing operational framework, the challenge was clear: stand up a fully functioning organization—fast.

The West Washington Street Corridor Study represents a bold step toward transforming one of Indianapolis' most underutilized commercial corridors. A collaboration between the City of Indianapolis, Develop Indy, and the Indianapolis Airport Authority, this study provides a clear roadmap for economic development, phased investment, and long-term transformation. This effort builds upon a previous 2018 West Side Vision Plan, but with a more focused approach—zeroing in on key parcels along West Washington Street from I-465 to the Hendricks County line. The strategy particularly leverages the adjacency of Indianapolis International Airport as a catalyst for investment, positioning the corridor as a gateway for future development.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, small businesses in Indianapolis faced unprecedented financial challenges. As part of the Indy Chamber’s small leadership team, I played a key role in developing and implementing a Rapid Response Loan & Grant Program, leveraging both public and private funding to provide emergency relief to businesses in need.

The Indy Music Strategy is a comprehensive initiative designed to support and grow Indianapolis’ music industry by fostering economic opportunities, enhancing infrastructure, and amplifying the city’s cultural identity. Led by the Indy Chamber with U.k.-based consultancy Sound Diplomacy, the strategy brought together stakeholders from across the music ecosystem to create a roadmap for a thriving, inclusive music economy.

Entrepreneurship is a key driver of economic growth, yet many business owners struggle to find the resources, mentorship, and funding they need to succeed. While Indianapolis has a strong network of free and low-cost support services, navigating them can be overwhelming—especially for new entrepreneurs.
